Considering you can buy carbon steel knives for over $500, I had low expectations for this product. No, it's not on the level of that sort of knife, but the quality is still quite good. It is comfortable to use, it has reasonable heft to it and feels like it's good quality, and boy was it sharp. I was quite impressed with the sharpness right out of the box. This will definitely be put to regular use in my kitchen.

honestly for the price i love this knife so far, it seems to be holding an edge well enough, cuts verry well. Most of all it feels great in my hand. It just asks for you to use it in a pinch grip or whatever u wanna call it. no issues with rust or patina, seems to be a good steel. After using it a while now its still nicely sharp. It could maybe use a touch up but that's it. I say if your interested in Japanese style knives at all, pick this one up and see how you like it before you spend a lot more. I love it its my new favorite kitchen knife.

This knife is spectacular. It looks amazing and cuts through anything. The wood handle is perfectly balanced and looks great. Perfect for cooking or using as a carving knife (people commented on what a great knife when I did use it to carve) The box is so nice, I store it in the box. Great as a gift idea for the chef you love.

I LOVE cooking & having good knives is a must. This one is my new favourite!It feels solid in my hand & it looks so badass!
